Japanese battleships

Many players consider the Japanese battleship Yamato one of the best battleships in game, many players consider the Japanese battleship Yamato. So if you want to get this legendary battleship in your port, the choice of the nation is obvious! The main feature of Japanese battleships is a combination of powerful main guns caliber with a high speed starting at low tiers. The main drawback of the Japanese battleships is the weak air defense and maneuvering.

US battleships

The main feature of US battleships in World of Warships can be considered combination of a powerful main calibers with excellent anti-air defense. Unlike the Japanese, US battleships perfectly shoot down enemy planes, and good maneuverability makes it possible to dodge torpedoes more efficiently.

US battleships have their drawbacks.  At medium tiers low speed and short range of fire, so that playing low and medium tier battleships may be boring sometimes. American battleships have a good armor, but usually this armor basically protects only your citadels. Other parts are easily penetrated by high explosive shells of enemy cruisers. Well, at tier IX and X level, including the premium Missouri, citadels stick out from the water to half of broadside.

Excellent at first glance, Anti-air Defense is concentrated mainly in the near and middle auras. Whether your battleship will be able to shoot down planes on the approach is a big question. In addition, air defense installations in the near and middle auras do not have high survivability and quickly get destroyed with HE shells hits.

German battleships

High speed, excellent armor, good anti-air defense and excellent secondary guns (starting from tier VIII level) make these ships much more comfortable to play than US or IJN battleships.

German battleships have their drawbacks too. The main drawback is the main caliber guns of German battleships, inferior to classmates at medium and high tiers (by a caliber, general number of gun barrels, overall accuracy). German battleships have rather "anti-cruisers" role. In addition, despite the good armoring of the citadels and other parts, German battleships soak too much damage from armor-piercing shells.

British battleships

Main feature of British battleships is high-explosive shells with increased armor penetration and a high chance of setting enemy ship on fire, as well as an improved Party Repair Team, which allows to restore more HP points than battleships of other nations.

British battleships up to the tier VI level have slowest towers in the game with a turning time of 180 degrees in 72 seconds, so British commander requires "Expert Marksman" perk. In this case, the turn time is reduced to about 55 seconds. However, this costs 2 skill, which you could spend on "Expert Loader”. Because the "Expert Loader" increases the rate of fire of your ship and the damage it causes, and the "Expert Marksman" does not. In general, British battleships of low tiers are not fast but well-balanced ships.

Starting from the VII level, British battleships get comfortable towers with a normal turning speed, and the possibility of combining armor-piercing and improved high-explosive shells makes the game on the British quite interesting.

French Battleships

The branch of French battleships is difficult to characterize, since from tier III to tier V change between ships has more of an evolutionary nature: mass, caliber and the increasing number of towers of the main caliber. The tier VI battleship Normandie in comparison with its predecessors is very unusual due to the reduction of number of towers and increasing number of guns in each one of them .

Up to tier VIII game-play on French battleships will be similar for battleships fans, and then after tier VIII with an Engine Boost and an atypical number of guns combined with a decent range of “secondaries” will stimulate for creating new tactics and ways to support and cooperate with your allies.

Tier X - République - is very hard to compare with "classmates", having only two gun turrets. But their quick reloading, as well as the high-speed of the ship (at the tier X among the battleships it's the fastest one) will allow to look differently at your favorite ship class in World of Warships.

Despite its seeming slowness, the battleships in World of Warships can quite please even the players, who like hot actions and want to be in the epicenter of the battle. The combination of powerful artillery and thick armor with the "Party Repair Team" consumable allows you to inflict just enormous amounts of damage with knocking out citadels, "deleting" enemy ships and able to survive until the end of the battle.
